Reissue News and Exclusive Illustration Reveal

I will be doing a proper announcement for everyone, but this is just accessible to subscribers as I’m revealing to you which of Tom Brown’s illustrations will be in the new reissued version of The Crows.

We now have a date for Canelo Horror’s reissue, and a brand new cover! There will be one illustration in this new version out of Tom’s original five.

I am delisting the duel eBook and my original editions of The Crows (eBook, paperback and anniversary edition hardback). You can no longer get these from me, but you can pre-order the new version from Canelo at a special pre-order price of £1.99.

Look at this line up so far. There’s me and The Crows alongside Ronald Malfi’s Bone White, Sarah Langan’s The Keeper, and John Langan’s The Fisherman. How has this happened? I really never expected anything like this when I started my self publishing journey.

I am still unagented, but I’ve retained all the rights except the print rights to The Crows and Thirteenth, so translation, audio, film etc are still mine. This means no change to the podcast.

The new version is giving a lot of genre mash feels and that’s what I write – it’s contemporary Gothic horror, it’s eldritch, it’s weird, it’s paranormal, it’s a horror soap opera set in a seaside town 30 years behind the times. If you like Ramsey Campbell, Ray Bradbury, Shirley Jackson, Caroline Graham (Midsomer Murders), sentient houses with erotic and obsessive designs on their doomed owner, and lonely asexual cannibal lads with eldritch secrets, then dive on in.

If you already know, then you know.

Speaking of forbidden knowledge, I’ve sent off the illustration that will grace the pages of this reissue, and nobody’s told me not to share it, so it’s being shared with my subscribers only (you wonderful people) for now.

The illustration we’re going with is:
